Learning never ends at Baptist, and our medical education programs are designed to give our doctors and nurses access to the latest discoveries, technology and trends to keep them at the leading edge of medicine. We offer a variety of educational opportunities for a number of disciplines and specialties, delivered by the top teaching doctors and experts in the region.
Baptist Graduate Medical Education
Baptist Memorial Medical Education has been a successful sponsoring institution for Graduate Medical Education programs for more than 30 years, with some of the most sought-after post-graduate clinical experiences, fellowships and residency opportunities. Based in Memphis, Tennessee, we currently have programs throughout our Baptist Memorial hospitals in eastern Arkansas, western Tennessee, and north and central Mississippi. We offer residency programs taught by experienced faculty in:
- Family Medicine (including Rural Training Track)
- Internal Medicine
- Obstetrics and Gynecology
- General Surgery
Additionally, we offer fellowships in both Geriatric Medicine and Addiction Medicine. External resident and fellow rotations are also available, as well as medical and physician’s assistant student experiences.

Baptist and Baptist Health Sciences University have rightfully become a destination for health care professionals, including pharmacy graduates looking for a comprehensive, hands-on residency experience, as well as a definitive source of post-graduate nursing education for RNs wanting to take their advanced training to the limit.

Physician Wellness Program
The Baptist Physician Wellness Program seeks to help doctors facing real-life challenges with burnout, depression, substance abuse, addiction and other harmful behaviors. Our Physician Wellness Committee serves as a confidential resource for doctors in need.
Continuing Medical Education
Baptist offers numerous CME classes and curricula to help our providers grow in their expertise and keep them up to date on the latest technologies and techniques, as well as help them meet ongoing certification and professional designation requirements.
